Somebody Tried To Steal My Car!
The nerve of some people!
Last night my car was broken into, in my driveway, by someone who looks like they were trying to just make off with it. Probably one of those dudes who want to become a millionaire overnight but doesn’t want to earn it. I never thought this was something that could happen in my neighborhood!
See, I’m the type of person who’s constantly waking up at night to either go to the bathroom, or pee, or check if everything is alright. So last night I woke up in the middle of the night, went to the kitchen, and just took a peek out the window, for no reason.
That’s when I found out that my passenger door was open. Since it was raining, I cursed under my breath and thought that Kris had left it open when I gave him my keys to go get my cell phone that I had forgotten in the car. So I went to get my keys, put on something so I don’t get wet, and when I stepped out, that’s when I realized what had happened.
My front passenger window had been broken, so the thief could get into the car. There was glass all over the seat, which was soaked too. A real mess. All the interior lights were on, the radio was playing, the heat was on, I mean whoever was in the car made themselves real comfortable!
They ripped out the ignition thingy (I don’t know what it’s called). It’s the actual part where you stick the key in to start the car. They took it out and I found it on the floor. I don’t know if they were trying to hotwire the car or something similar, although from what I’ve seen in movies the hotwiring is done somewhere under the wheel, but I don’t know jack about those things.
Anyway I looked through all my stuff, and nothing was missing. Absolutely nothing, even not the change I usually leave in the coin drawers. I had books, sneakers, clothes, all of it was still there. Even my CD changer was there. That’s why I think they weren’t interested in anything that was in the car. My baby was going to get stolen and sold part by part.
I did file a police report and insurance claim, but I’m going to be without a car for a couple days, which really pisses me off. It also saddens me that my neighborhood, that used to be so safe, is going downhill real fast: a car was broken into, just like mine, one street down.
